| Believe it or not, I can actually draw.
- Jean Michel Basquiat
The artist in me died about 2 years ago. Cause of death - lack of
inspiration and the world. When I was little, I used to love to
draw. I dreamed of being an artist. Somewhere in the
midst of art classes and art shows I lost the passion. Anything I
made was to please people because I hated a disapproving look. An
artist pours their heart and soul into their work, only to be
criticized by an audience with narrowminded tastes of likes and
dislikes. The lion's share of the general public go into museums with no
artistic background whatsoever and insult the most renowned pieces in
the world. That will always baffle me. So this goes out to
all of the artists who will never be 'understood' yet continue to
persevere. I salute you, Piet Mondrian.

| I wanna be like Agasssssssi

I am addicted to this sport. People have tried to get me into it
in the past, but for some reason it hasn't clicked until now.
Every single hit counts in this game. You have to be really
conditioned, and in the right state of mind. There is absolutely
no one on the court to rely on (unless you're playing doubles, and even
then the pressure is on). And I think I like it so much because
it frustrates me. I screw up over and over and over again, and
when I'm actually doing alright, I'll screw up again. I guess I
have this inner drive to conquer things that challenge me or something
because I don't care how many times I mess up, I want more and will
continue to talk trash like a true athlete. jk... It's like
what the philosopher Epictetus said - if you want to improve, be content to be thought
foolish and stupid with regard to external things. And boy do I
look foolish. Any takers??
One day, this will be me...
